Get to the point

I never sleep on Sunday nights and as I lay there with a bazillion thoughts running through my brain it occurred to me that I never really did get to the point on the last post, as in what I’d done that made me feel like I’m in control of the situation. So, here it is: I started checking out housing for one of my children, got a college application nearly completed for another, checked into the National Guard for one, and sent in D’s resume to a prospective employer. I’ve made a list of repairs/upgrades to the house that will be needed before we can sell it and I’m figuring it will come to about $16,000. The roof will be mostly covered by insurance, so that comes first. Then painting, then new carpet, then the garage door, then the sprinkler system, then two or three new windows . . . you get the picture. Next year, I’m going to see if I can pull the funds out of my IRA then replace the money when the house sells. Not sure if it works that way, but hey, it’s a start.
