Missionary position

The truth is, I’m not ambitious, which is a far cry from being unambitious although I’m not entirely sure how to explain it. I don’t need a fancy title, I don’t need glory nor fame nor infamy for that matter. I’m OK with the money I make and mostly don’t compare myself to others. Instead I’d like to think I’m on a mission. I am extremely grateful to be in a position to do the work I do because I believe in what I’m doing with all my heart and the very breadth of my soul. In a quiet way, I’d like to feel like I’m making a difference; making the world better for the next generation and reversing the ravages of ignorance, bias and abuse. I’m on a mission for change and that will never change. And so if I offer to carry some of your burden, I hope you will realize I am trying to advance my mission, not my stature. You can take all the credit, I don’t care. I’m doing something I believe in and I’m merely trying to do my share.
