At Least They're Committed

While at our fav Sunday afternoon digs, The Old Man, I get an anonymous call on my work phone. Most intriguing!  I answer, “This is My Name,” and an elderly woman demands, “What channel is the Broncos on????” I turn to D and ask. “Channel 4,” I tell her. “What time?” she asks. “2 p.m.,” I say and D nods. “Well, 2:15 actually, but essentially 2.” She says, “Oh, OK, I thought it was 1.” “No,” I say kindly, “It’s 2.” “So it’s at 1?” “No, 2 p.m.” There’s a pause and finally she says, “Who is this?” And I say quite professionally, “This is My Name from My Place of Work.” And she pauses and says, “Well, I have the wrong number!” I tell her it’s OK and she says, “At least I got the right information!” And we chuckle and she hangs up without saying goodbye.
