There are times in a person’s life when you stop and say, really? Here are a few of those insights from friends of the past:
1. Clint: “My dad was working out of state and when I flew out to visit him he met me at the airport with a woman and he excitedly introduced me to her and I was confused because he was still married to my mother and we were a family.” Told me about it on our first date. Obviously fucked him up. He ended up hating his dad and his dad didn’t understand. Moron!
2. Darrell’s parents had been having huge issues and were in the process of getting the divorce. The parents were sitting in the lawyer’s office and Mom calls Darrell and says, “Should I divorce your dad?” and he says, as a 14-year-old boy “You need to do what’s right for the both of you.” And as he’s hanging up the phone, he hears his mom say, “Darrell says I should divorce you.” His dad ‘blamed’ him for the divorce for years.
Oh, I’ll add to this, but I’m tired so it’ll have to wait. And, yes, for my grandchildren who will never know me, the second is your great grandmother. No matter how they try to villify me in history, keep in mind the context . . .
